Whether you’re experiencing volume loss in the form of hollow areas, facial folds, and wrinkles, or you want to enhance your features to help transform your face or body for the better, we have the perfect solution. At Aesthetic Clinique in Santa Rosa Beach, FL, we offer several different dermal fillers to improve your appearance and defy both genetics and the aging process.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are cosmetic injectables designed to combat aging and enhance the features by adding volume below the surface of the skin. There are many different fillers designed to accomplish different goals, but in the end, achieving the best outcome comes down to your injector. At Aesthetic Clinique, our experienced team is led by Dr. Steven F. Weiner, who has been voted one of the best injectors in America.
If you are looking for results delivered by an expert who has a thorough understanding of facial anatomy on a different level than most, you will find it here at our office.
The Different Types of Fillers
There are two primary types of fillers: hyaluronic acid-based fillers and collagen-stimulating fillers. Each delivers natural and long-lasting results, but they work differently. Your body creates hyaluronic acid to keep your skin youthful, but as you age, your body makes less of this substance which is why hollow areas form. The skin starts to exhibit the signs of aging, and facial folds, wrinkles, and other imperfections appear.
This filler delivers a substance below the skin’s surface to help restore volume to the area. It can also enhance the features by improving problem areas and addressing facial symmetry or proportion concerns.
Collagen-stimulating fillers do not contain HA but instead contain a primary ingredient that works by stimulating the body’s production of collagen. While they do deliver an immediate plumping effect, the body metabolizes the ingredients over the next few weeks and starts creating more natural collagen. You will achieve natural and long-lasting results as collagen production increases.
Choosing the Right Fillers
Both HA and collagen-stimulating fillers deliver results, but some patients are better suited for one over the other. That’s the importance of your consultation. Once we learn more about your concerns and goals, we can evaluate your medical history and consider all of these factors as we create your unique treatment plan.
Your treatment plan will look different than someone else’s because your face is unique, as is your facial structure and facial anatomy. When you choose our office for dermal fillers, you can rest assured that you will get some amazing and professional results that will make you look like an improved version of yourself, not a completely different person.
At Aesthetic Clinique, we offer several different hyaluronic acid-based fillers. Our core group of fillers are the fillers from the Restylane and Revanesse collections:
- Restylane Lyft
- Restylane Refyne
- Restylane Defyne
- Restylane Silk
- Restylane Kysse
- Revanesse Versa
We also offer some collagen-stimulating fillers to meet all of our patient’s needs, including Radiesse, which uses calcium hydroxyapatite as its primary collagen-stimulating ingredient, and Sculptra, which uses Poly-L-Lactic Acid.
What Can They Treat?
Some fillers are designed to improve a few areas of the face, but they can be used for so much more when administered by an expert injector. You can treat almost any facial imperfection or concern at our office with one of these dermal fillers. We can also help treat and improve different areas of the body. Some of the areas we treat include:
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
- Tear troughs
- Perioral lines
- Marionette lines
- Prejowl folds
- Chin creases
- Ear lobes
- Skin laxity on the knees and arms
- Acne scars
How Long Do They Last?
Fillers deliver long-lasting results. You can enjoy your results for anywhere from six months to two years or longer when you begin a routine with cosmetic injectables. The total length of your results will depend on several factors, which is why results vary from patient to patient.
The treatment location, the rate at which your body metabolizes the product, and the products used during treatment all influence the longevity of your results. When you come in for your consultation, we can provide you with a better idea of what kind of results you can expect.
The Treatment Process
Your treatment will begin with an initial consultation at our office. This consultation not only confirms that you’re a good candidate for this treatment but it helps us learn more about your aesthetic goals. Dermal fillers are more complex than you may think, and not every filler is suitable for everyone’s face or needs.
When evaluating your areas of concern and determining which dermal filler is right for you, we consider many different factors. We will evaluate your facial anatomy, problem areas, and your ultimate goals. Then we’ll make recommendations and design a customized treatment plan that helps you reach those aesthetic goals.
The Aesthetic Clinique Difference
When you schedule a filler appointment at our office, we can employ different methods to help keep you from experiencing any discomfort during your appointment. A dermal filler appointment should be exciting, not terrifying. Once you experience an injection appointment at our office, you will be amazed at how quick, painless, and simple the process really is.
Our fillers contain lidocaine, a mild numbing agent that helps the injection process feel virtually painless, and it also contributes to your overall comfort post-treatment. Once we clean your skin and prepare it for the injection process, we can use different techniques based on your needs and desires to ensure your optimal comfort, including:
- The cannula method
- Frozen C (cryotherapy)
- Topical numbing solutions
- ProNox nitrous oxide
- Artek cooling
The Injection Process
The injection process is quick and simple. Once we determine which methods you want to enhance your experience, we will begin the injection process. A series of injections will be administered into your treatment areas. Injections are quick and virtually painless, and the treatment will be over before you know it. Once your chosen product has been administered, you will see immediate results.
The Cannula Technique
Most fillers are administered with a syringe. The product is placed inside a syringe fitted with an ultra-thin needle that is injected into your problem areas. At Aesthetic Clinique, Dr. Steven F. Weiner has pioneered an innovative injection method called the cannula technique.
This technique employs a cannula, which is a very thin tube, to administer your filler. This process is superior to other traditional injection techniques because it helps enhance the patient’s comfort, reduces downtime, and increases safety.
When Will I See Results?
Your results will be immediate and visible after your initial appointment. However, your initial results won’t be your final results. It takes approximately ten days for the filler ingredients to blend with your skin’s infrastructure, so while your initial results will be visible, your final results will be even better.
Is There Any Downtime?
Some people confuse downtime with aftercare. Downtime typically refers to taking time off of work and limiting your normal daily activities. After your injection appointment, you will need to take some precautions to ensure the best results, but you won’t have to take time off of work or completely rearrange your schedule to accommodate your treatment.
We will advise you to avoid excess sun exposure immediately following your treatment and use sunscreen whenever exposed to the sun. You should also avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after your treatment. We can provide you with a complete list of pre and post-treatment instructions at your initial consultation.
