What Botox® Offers

FACIAL BENEFITS

The face has 43 muscles. BOTOX® is an injectable and is primarily used to treat frown lines, creases in the forehead, and crow’s feet. It can also be used to treat wrinkles that form around the lips, on the lower face, and in downturned smiles. What was originally created to treat muscle spasms has quickly seen a rise in usage as a powerful tool in a variety of cosmetic procedures. It is injected into the face in a nonsurgical fashion, which means that there is no downtime either for surgery prep or recovery. If you are looking for a quick and easy way to temporarily get rid of unwanted wrinkles or fine lines, then this could be the option you’re looking for. It is an FDA-approved procedure for reducing the appearance of wrinkles, primarily on your face. Administered correctly, BOTOX® can address the areas where you have fine lines while keeping the surrounding muscles nice and perky. Don’t let wrinkles get you down, call Aesthetic Clinique Parkland, formerly known as Natura Medspa, and let us help you regain the look you want.

BOTOX PRICES | COST-EFFECTIVE

When people think about cosmetic appointments, they immediately think of incredibly expensive injections or surgical procedures. The good news is that BOTOX® is actually one of the most affordable cosmetic procedures available today. Injections range between $170 and $500 depending on a number of different factors. If you choose to stack some of the other available procedures that we offer, the cost may vary. We will talk about the benefits of stacking the services that we offer a bit later. If you are tired of seeing wrinkles and fine lines on your face every time you look in a mirror, then you should consider scheduling a microneedling and BOTOX® procedure with us at our spa-like aesthetic center. Our staff is trained to specifically address any questions or concerns that you may have. Your satisfaction with the outcome of any procedure is always our highest priority. Call Aesthetic Clinique Parkland, formerly known as Natura Medspa, today to learn about all that we have to offer you!

Planning for a BOTOX® Treatment

It’s important to plan for your BOTOX® treatment from preparation all the way through aftercare. Exact steps may vary depending on the treatment area and types of wrinkles being addressed.

Before your BOTOX® treatment:

  • Prepare a list of questions for your BOTOX® consultation.
  • Meet with us for your informative consultation.
  • Have realistic expectations.
  • Avoid drinking alcohol for at least a week before your BOTOX® treatment.
  • Do not take anti-inflammatory medications for at least a week prior to your BOTOX® session.
  • Refrain from eating food with garlic for seven days before the treatment session in order to minimize the risk of bruising after treatment.
  • Avoid smoking cigarettes in the days leading up to your BOTOX® treatment session.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
  • Consider applying Arnica cream days before the treatment session, as it can help minimize post-treatment bruising.

AFTERCARE PREPARATION

To prepare for aftercare before your BOTOX® treatment:

  • Review the BOTOX® aftercare instructions provided.
  • Prepare ice packs to address any post-treatment bruising.
  • Postpone any activities related to exercise, saunas, sun exposure, tanning beds, hot tubs, and alcohol.
  • Postpone any facials, exfoliating scrubs, or facial massages.
  • Purchase a gentle facial cleanser.

ON THE TREATMENT DAY

On the day of your BOTOX® treatment:

  • Do your workout routine before your BOTOX® treatment session, since patients must avoid working out for up to 48 hours after treatment.
  • Clean your face thoroughly to get rid of products, oil, and other impurities that may cause an acne outbreak.
  • Relax by meditating, listening to music, or reading so that you will be in a calm place for your BOTOX® treatment session.

WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS

BOTOX® and dermal fillers are a special combination that many people choose when they come to our spa-like aesthetic center. BOTOX® helps to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines because it relaxes muscle activity wherever it is injected. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, help to “fill in” the area where the wrinkle is located. The filler is injected below the surface of the skin, and it essentially restores a much smoother appearance to your skin. As you can see, these two injectables are very different, but it is their differences that make them such wonderfully complementary procedures. The combination of these two injectables produces exceptional results and is quickly growing in popularity.

While dermal fillers help to fill areas that have a sagging appearance, they can also help to augment areas in the cheeks and chin, and jawline, which many people prefer over a surgical approach to augmentation. Because they are injectables and not surgery, dermal fillers offer freedom from the time it takes to prepare for surgery, as well as the downtime required for healing. The procedure itself can be completed in as little as ten minutes, which means that the patient can immediately return to their normal.

BOTOX® + DERMAL FILLERS + MICRONEEDLING = AMAZING RESULTS

Botox® and Microneedling

Collagen induction therapy, also known as microneedling, is a cosmetic procedure that generates the production of new collagen and skin tissue for an overall smoother and more toned appearance. As you might guess from the description, it is used primarily on the face, and it can be used to treat scars, wrinkles, and large pores.

Microneedling is still minimally invasive and therefore requires no downtime. While BOTOX® helps to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles from overactive muscles, microneedling helps to generate collagen production. Combined, these two procedures can help you achieve the youthful, firm look that you want. At Aesthetic Clinique Parkland, formerly known as Natura Medspa, we know exactly what procedures will help you get the outcome that you desire. Call and speak with our staff today and let us know what we can do for you.

HOW THEY WORK TOGETHER FOR YOU

It is important for you to understand that while BOTOX® and microneedling can work together to create the firm and youthful appearance that you want, they should not be done at the same time. While microneedling is minimally invasive, it does penetrate the skin in order to generate new collagen and tissue. Due to this process, your skin will need time before you can have your BOTOX® procedure. BOTOX® is an injectable and therefore, it needs to be administered to intact skin only. We are more than happy to sit down with you and discuss your exact goals and desired outcomes in order to help you determine which procedures you wish to choose and in which order you want them performed. Call our office today and schedule your free consultation.

As we age, our body does not produce as much collagen as it did when we were younger. In fact, collagen production begins to slow down in our mid-20s and continues to slow down after age 30. From that point, the levels of collagen in our skin begin to drop by approximately one to two percent per year. A lack of collagen causes our skin to weaken, become thinner, and sag. Since collagen is the primary agent that helps our faces to look youthful, you can understand why people would not only want to slow down the loss of collagen but also try to find ways to regenerate the production of this important protein. Microneedling may be the perfect solution to this problem. We are sure that you have questions about this procedure and we look forward to speaking with you when you schedule your free consultation at Aesthetic Clinique Parkland, formerly known as Natura Medspa, today.

What You Can Expect

EFFICACY

In a blind study of 300 patients, no difference was evident when comparing the results of Xeomin® and BOTOX®. A seasonal difference, however, can play a role in how our bodies metabolize a neuromodulator. Therefore, changing to a new modulator during different seasons may be the primary factor in perceived results. If you are concerned about whether or not you should change the modulator that you have been using, as well as choosing the right time for a change, then be sure to ask this question, and any others you may have during your free consultation with us at Aesthetic Clinique Parkland, formerly known as Natura Medspa.

DOSAGE AND RESULTS

BOTOX® and Xeomin require the same dosage when injected, whereas Dysport requires approximately double the dose. The visibility of results varies with each product. Results from Dysport will be visible approximately 24 hours after the procedure, while results from BOTOX® appear at three days, and Xeomin results appear a day later at four days following the injection. Some people report a difference in how long the effects last, with the average time frame landing around three months.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

According to IAPAM, the International Association of Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine, Dysport has been shown to “drift” more than BOTOX®. This drift increases the chances of an accidental droopy eyelid or unintentional relaxation of a neighboring muscle due to diffusion of the product. Botox has been around the longest, and therefore the brand is more recognized. Xeomin and Dysport were FDA-approved for facial applications in 2010 and 2009 respectively.

BOTOX® vs. Xeomin® vs. Dysport®

THE ULTIMATE WRINKLE-REDUCTION TREATMENT!

BOTOX®, Xeomin, and Dysport are neuromodulators, which means that they are substances that alter nerve impulse transmissions. Because of this, they are used to treat wrinkles between the eyebrows and glabella. The glabella is the smooth part of the forehead just above and between the eyebrows. They will eradicate lines on the forehead, minimize the appearance of crow’s feet, and treat bunny lines, the fine lines that can form around the nose.

PURITY

The main difference between Xeomin and BOTOX® or Dysport® is that Xeomin contains just one ingredient: botulinum toxin A. Each of these products has a slightly different manufacturing process, which may lead to potential, yet subtle, clinical differences.

Of the three, Xeomin is the only purified substance with absolutely no additives. The benefit of Xeomin’s pure form is that the human body is less likely to become resistant to it. Unfortunately, some patients have developed antibodies in response to injections from BOTOX® and Dysport, which can make them less effective.

LOW COST

Another advantage of Xeomin is that it is based on a newer technology, which allows it to be stored without refrigeration. Due to this fact, the cost of storing and transporting Xeomin is lower than it is for the other two products, which may afford a lower price for the client.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Botox®?

Botox®, also known as onabotulinumtoxinA, is a purified form of the botulinum toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is used for both medical and cosmetic purposes and is one of the most popular treatments for reducing wrinkles and fine lines in the face. Botox® works by blocking nerve signals in the muscles, causing temporary muscle paralysis, which smoothes out the skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

Medical uses of Botox® include treating various conditions like:

Muscle Spasms: Botox® is used to treat muscle spasms in the neck (cervical dystonia), eyelids (blepharospasm), and other muscle groups.
Chronic Migraine: Botox® is approved for the treatment of chronic migraine headaches in adults.
Hyperhidrosis: Botox® can be used to reduce excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) in the underarms, hands, and feet.
Overactive Bladder: Botox® is used to treat overactive bladder symptoms when other medications are ineffective.

Cosmetic uses of Botox® involve reducing facial wrinkles, such as frown lines between the eyebrows, crow’s feet around the eyes, and forehead lines.

What are the side effects of Botox®?

As with any medical treatment, Botox® may have side effects. Some common side effects include:

Temporary Bruising: Injection sites may develop bruising, which usually resolves within a few days.

Headache: Headaches after receiving Botox® injections are generally mild and transient. They typically resolve within a few hours. If you experience persistent or severe headaches after Botox® treatment, it is essential to contact your healthcare provider to ensure there are no underlying issues or to discuss possible remedies

Temporary Muscle Weakness: Botox®’s muscle-relaxing effects may cause temporary weakness or drooping of nearby muscles, especially if the injection is not administered correctly.

Allergic Reactions: Although rare, some individuals may have an allergic reaction to Botox®, leading to symptoms like itching, rash, or difficulty breathing. If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, seek medical attention immediately.

Dry Eyes: Botox® injections near the eyes may cause temporary dryness or irritation.

It’s important to note that the effects of Botox® are not permanent and typically last for several months. Additionally, the risks and side effects can vary depending on the individual’s health, the dose administered, and the specific area treated. To ensure a safe and effective procedure, Botox® injections should be performed by a licensed and experienced healthcare professional. If you are considering Botox® treatment, consult with a qualified medical practitioner to discuss your specific concerns and assess if Botox® is a suitable option for you.

What happens to Botox® when it wears off?

When Botox® wears off, its effects gradually diminish, and the treated muscles regain their normal function. Botox® works by blocking nerve signals that stimulate muscle contractions. As a result, the targeted muscles experience temporary paralysis, leading to a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines in the treated area.

The effects of Botox® typically last for around three to six months, depending on the individual and the specific treatment area. As time passes, the nerve signals gradually recover, and the muscle activity returns to normal. This leads to the gradual fading of the cosmetic or therapeutic effects achieved through Botox®.

As the Botox® wears off, the muscles will regain their full strength and movement, and any wrinkles or lines that were previously smoothed out will gradually reappear. At this point, if a person wishes to maintain the results, they may opt for follow-up Botox® injections to keep the muscles temporarily relaxed and reduce the appearance of wrinkles once again.

It’s essential to note that Botox® treatments are temporary and reversible. If someone is not satisfied with the results or experiences side effects, they can expect the effects to fade with time without any permanent changes to their appearance or muscle function. If considering Botox® treatments, it’s important to discuss the expected duration of effects and any potential follow-up treatments with a qualified healthcare professional.

How much does it cost to get Botox?

Please note that prices for Botox treatments can vary significantly depending on factors such as location, practitioner expertise, and the number of units required. The cost is usually measured per unit of Botox. Here’s a rough estimate of the cost range for each of the mentioned Botox treatment areas:

Areas of TreatmentEstimated Cost Range
Botox Brow Lift$200 – $600
Lines Across Forehead$150 – $400
Frown Lines or Lines Between Brows$200 – $500
Crow’s Feet$200 – $500
Bunny Lines$100 – $300
Downturned Smile (DAO)$100 – $300
Lip Lines$100 – $300
Lip Flip$50 – $150
Neck Bands$200 – $600
TMJ$300 – $800
Sweating (Hyperhidrosis for Armpits)$800 – $1,500
Gummy Smile$50 – $200
Marionette Lines$100 – $300

Please keep in mind that these are approximate cost ranges and can vary based on factors specific to your location and the provider you choose. It’s recommended to consult with a qualified medical professional to get a more accurate estimate based on your individual needs and the amount of Botox units required for your treatment.

Will I be unable to form facial expressions after getting BOTOX®?

No, after a BOTOX® treatment session with an experienced injector, you will still be able to form facial expressions without any issues. A natural look is ideal, and the best way to achieve this is by injecting very small amounts of BOTOX® into key muscles without treating the surrounding muscles.

When can I apply makeup again after a BOTOX® treatment?

We recommend waiting until 24 hours have passed after your BOTOX® treatment session to apply makeup. By avoiding application of makeup, you will be avoiding potentially applying pressure to the treated areas. This helps prevent dispersal of the toxin.

When should I come in for BOTOX® maintenance treatments?

Patients can return for maintenance treatment sessions after their fine lines begin to reappear. Repeat treatments can cause the overcontracted facial muscles to become thinner, which can result in longer-lasting benefits after treatments.
