The Science Behind CoolSculpting Elite

CoolSculpting Elite utilizes a process called cryolipolysis. The treatment uses cooling energy to lower the temperature of the targeted fat cells. Because the lipids in fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than other cells, this leaves other cells undamaged. The fat cells die and are gradually and safely filtered out of the body, reducing the volume of the treatment area.

What to Expect on the Day of CoolSculpting?

First, gel pads are placed on the treatment region that protects the skin from cooling energy. The selected CoolSculpting Elite applicator(s) creates suction, keeping the applicator in place while pulling the skin and fat inside the applicator(s). Cooling energy is then administered to the area. Two applicators for the 1st time may now be used in the same or different area.

During the CoolSculpting process, patients can relax and enjoy the experience. Patients can use mobile devices, read, or catch up on sleep with treatment sessions lasting 35 to 55 minutes per two applicator treatments.

The procedure is generally regarded as not being painful. Mild pinching or tugging may be felt, along with temporary cold sensations that abate when the skin temperature is brought down. Very similar to the experience of placing ice on the skin following an athletic injury.

CoolSculpting Elite Recovery

Once the CoolSculpting Elite treatment session is complete, Ft. Lauderdale patients can immediately get back to their everyday schedule. There is no need for any sort of recovery or downtime. A degree of temporary swelling, bruising, or redness may be present but will fade. All the post-treatment guidelines and possible adverse reactions are in our patient consent forms.
