Pellecome Hormone Replacement Therapy Fort Lauderdale

After seven years of research & testing, Forever Young MedSpa has chosen Pellecome hormone replacement therapy for Fort Lauderdale patients. We have found Pellecome’s Proprietary Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Pellet Therapy & Patented Re3® delivery system to be the ideal choice, and we are now a certified and authorized Pellecome BHRT center.

What Is Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Pellet Therapy?

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is the therapeutic use of plant-based hormones that are identical on a molecular level with those created by the human body. Pills & creams have less than 40% patient compliance and injections often cause rapid increases in your hormones not to mention the injections are painful.

Hormone pellets are the preferred method of delivery and have benefits over other formulations, such as creams or orals. Sustained, consistent release of hormones from pellets over time is considered an advantage over the fluctuations that can occur with other formulations.

Why Bio-Identical Pellet Therapy?

Pellet therapy is simple and easy! Pellets are inserted into patients just 3-4 times per year. The procedure typically takes less than 15 minutes and most patients describe the procedure as minor with almost no pain. We use lidocaine to numb the area prior to insertion, and the required incision is so small that no stitches are needed.

Forever Young MedSpa BHRT patients don’t have to worry about applying creams, injecting themselves, or taking orals daily, so compliance is not an issue. The pellets are working to balance your hormone levels 24/7.

What’s Unique About Pellecome?

Glad you asked… Pellecome’s protocols have been developed by Dr. Jacome who has been a specialist in hormone replacement therapy since 1995. In 2002, Dr. Jacome turned his focus away from synthetic-based to natural hormone replacement therapy, using timed-release Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Pellets (BHRT).

These BHRT pellets are compounded using hormones that are “Biologically Identical” to those created naturally in the body. They are fused into pellet implants that are the size of a grain of rice and are inserted under the skin in a simple in-office procedure.

Today, Dr. Jacome and his proprietary protocols that provide proper patient dosing are recognized as a leader in the field of BHRT. The approach he developed is clinically sound and capable of providing the optimal delivery of hormones to both men and women who suffer from hormone imbalance.

Dr. Jacome’s depth of knowledge is not only derived from having his own clinic dedicated to hormone replacement therapy, but also from the inestimable experience that comes from using the pellets himself.

Dr. Jacome has performed over 30,000 implants over the last two decades and developed the protocols, including the unique Re3® Advanced Pellet Delivery System. This system is so unique that it has been awarded a formal United States Patent.

In summary, our staff has gone through all the certifications to provide  Pellecome’s HRT using Dr. Jacome’s bioidentical hormones, dosing formulas, and the patented Re3® delivery system for our patients.

How do I know if I need BHRT?

Hormone Imbalance in Men

Many male patients who pursue hormone replacement therapy find that, in the beginning, they’re unsure of how to explain their hormone deficiency symptoms.

However, men as young as 30 often begin to notice the impact that decreased testosterone levels has on their bodies and lifestyles.

Andropause

While it’s not as well known, there is a counterpart to menopause in men. This natural process is called andropause and affects the amounts of testosterone produced in the male body.

Andropause has a much less defined timeline. Some men experience a sudden, alarming change which can affect their ability to build muscle or lose weight, their bone density, and their sex drive and performance.

Most men, however, report a steady decline over a long period of time. This process often begins in their 30s and, going forward, the body’s testosterone production drops 1-2% each year.

For many men, the real side effects of andropause become apparent in their 40s and 50s. They realize that they don’t feel the way they used to, and many men report that they feel less confident in themselves.

Replenishing the body’s testosterone levels through BHRT pellets can help you feel younger and more full of life no matter how old you are.

Hormone Imbalance in Women

Signs of Hormone Deficiency in Women

While hormone deficiency can present itself in the early 30s, many women don’t notice its full effects until they reach menopause.

This hormone-driven bodily change is different for every woman, but an imbalance in the body’s natural hormone levels can make the symptoms much more overwhelming.

The process of menopause can be divided into four different stages:

  1. Premenopause: This first stage, which makes up the bulk of a woman’s life, encompasses the time when “normal” reproductive functions are active. For most women, this includes a regular period and the ability to become pregnant.Generally, it lasts from a woman’s first menstrual cycle to her last menstrual cycle. Hormone levels are usually higher during a woman’s teens and early 20s. As early as the mid-20s to early 30s, hormone levels plateau and eventually decrease.
  2. Perimenopause: This transitional stage between a normal, regular menstrual cycle and the end of a woman’s reproductive abilities can last 2-10 years. Most women who experience this stage are between 35-50 years old. Hormone levels fluctuate, often causing the hallmark symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes and a “roller coaster” of emotions due to the body’s imbalance. When it progresses naturally, this stage of menopause can take a huge toll on the physical and emotional health of women.
  3. Menopause: This last stage of a woman’s reproductive life is called menopause. The body’s ability to produce natural estrogen and progesterone decreases and the ovaries stop producing eggs. Once this happens, the body can no longer become pregnant naturally and monthly periods cease. For many women, symptoms such as hot flashes and mood swings continue through this stage and then slowly subside over the next 12 months.
  4. Post-menopause: This marks the beginning of life after menopause, typically about 1 year after the last regular menstrual cycle. During this stage, most women report that the classic symptoms of menopause have stopped. However, hormonal imbalances can still affect energy levels, libido, and bone density and can accelerate the aging process.

OTHER SIGNS OF HORMONE DEFICIENCY FOR MEN & WOMEN

Hormones, for most people, primarily affect the essence of what it is to be a man or a woman, including the shape and strength of the body, reproductive functions, and sex drive. While this is an important component of hormones, a hormonal imbalance can have a negative effect on your body’s general health. Both men and women can suffer from memory loss, fatigue, and bone density loss as a result of hormone deficiency.

In addition, serious health concerns such as cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, and weight gain are often directly connected to hormonal imbalance in the body.

Left unresolved, hormone deficiency can seriously damage your health. BHRT addresses this issue by introducing a steady source of bio-identical hormones into your body, allowing it to stabilize and begin to heal.

Is The Procedure Painful? I’ve Heard Pellets Can Really Hurt!

No other pellet delivery system offers the benefits of less pain and bruising and far better patient comfort like the Patented Re3® Advanced Pellet Delivery System does. The Re3® with NEEDLE GUIDE ensures pellets are always delivered into the target subcutaneous tissue plane.

The Re3® system is designed to deposit pellets in a linear retrograde fashion, which reduces the amount of Lidocaine required, reduces the risk of pellets bunching, extruding or overlapping, dramatically reduces patient bruising, and significantly reduces discomfort as compared to the trocar method all other centers use. In fact, the incision is so small that no stitches are needed and only a small bandage covers the area.

FAQs

What is Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Pellet Therapy?

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is the therapeutic use of plant-based hormones that are identical on a molecular level with those created by the human body. Hormone pellets are often the preferred method of delivery and have benefits over other formulations, such as creams or orals.

Sustained consistent release of hormones from pellets over time is considered an advantage over the fluctuations that can occur with formulations.

Some healthcare providers prescribe a combination of pellets, creams and/or orals to optimize their patients’ hormones.

Why Bio-Identical Pellet Therapy?

Pellet therapy is simple and easy! Pellets are inserted into patients 3-4 times per year. The procedure takes less than 15 minutes, with no downtime or recovery time needed.

Patients don’t have to worry about applying creams or taking orals daily so compliance is not an issue.

How long does a Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Pellet take to work?

Every patient and their hormone optimization journey are unique. Within 7-10 days after your pellet insertion, Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) begins to work. Once the pellets are inserted in the gluteal area, a consistent dose of Bio-Identical hormones enter the bloodstream.

Most patients report some symptom relief in as little as 2-4 weeks, but full optimization may take up to 6 months. Based on the results of your bloodwork, we will customize your particular hormone optimization that’s unique to you.

What is the goal of Hormone Optimization Therapy?

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is a treatment for many common and debilitating symptoms associated with aging, which are not traditionally addressed by healthcare providers. Symptoms such as fatigue, stress, foggy thinking, weight gain, loss of sex drive and sleep disturbances are some of the most common complaints.

The goal of BHRT is to address the root cause of symptoms by optimizing your hormone levels. BHRT is a natural and simple method for addressing hormone imbalance in Men and Women.

Studies have conclusively proven that Bio-Identical hormone pellet therapy can be successful in treating Men and Women with hormone imbalance.

How can I get started with Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Schedule an appointment with a member of the FYM staff to discuss whether BHRT may be an appropriate option for you. If the answer is yes, blood work will be done to test your current hormone levels. Based on your comprehensive consultation and thorough blood work panel, we will confirm that you are a candidate for BHRT. A follow up appointment will then be scheduled for your unique pellet therapy insertion.

What can I expect from BHRT pellet therapy?

Most patients report some symptom relief in as little as 2-4 weeks, but full optimization may take up to 6 months.

What should I do before the procedure?

One week before the procedure, stop taking all blood thinners such as NSAIDs, aspirin, ibuprofen, Vitamin E, naproxen sodium, etc. If you are required to take any of these on a daily basis, you need to let us know. No fasting in advance of the procedure is required.

What test is required before the insertion?

In addition to health questionnaire, a comprehensive blood panel is required so we can check specific hormone levels along with other blood panels to verify that you are a good candidate and to set proper initial hormone levels.

What happens during the in-office insertion?

During the in-office visit, patients are taken into the exam room where the insertion site is cleaned and numbed. The most common site of insertion is the upper buttock which we alternate left and right sides.

Once numb, a very small incision is made for the pellets to be inserted. After the pellets are placed, the insertion site is covered with a small bandage. The total procedure takes less than 15 minutes.

What happens during the week following the insertion?

After pellet insertion, it is best to eliminate lower body exercise, which does not include walking. Extraneous exercise is not recommended. To minimize the risk of infection, swimming, hot tubs, and bathtubs are to be avoided. You can shower 24 hours following the procedure. You can remove the outer gauze prior to showering but let the band-aid fall off on its own over the next 4-7 day. After one week, normal activities may resume.

How often is pellet insertion necessary?

Each patient’s experience is unique. Most patients however will need to have pellets inserted 3-4 times per year to maintain proper hormone levels.

What happens to pellets after insertion?

Since the Pellecome hormone replacement therapy pellets are Bio-Identical and contain nothing other than the hormone your body naturally produces, the pellets are completely dissolved and absorbed, leaving nothing behind. Pellecome hormone replacement therapy offers Fort Lauderdale patients a convenient and safe method of achieving optimal hormone balance.
