What It Is

Xeomin® is the first new generation neuromodulator and wrinkle relaxer. Xeomin® injections are used to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles such as moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines). It is made using an advanced manufacturing process that isolates the active ingredient and removes any components that are not necessary for the therapeutic effect.

How does Xeomin® work?

Xeomin®, also known as incobotulinumtoxinA, works like other neuromodulators such as BOTOX® and Dysport®, which cause the muscles to relax and gradually smooth out the appearance of wrinkles. Botulinum toxin type A is the active ingredient which is found in Xeomin®. This toxin is isolated from a strain of bacteria called Clostridium botulinum and it is an Acetylcholine release inhibitor and neuromuscular blocking agent. This means that it acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, it can temporarily reduce expression lines like the ones on your forehead in between your eyebrows.
