What Are Miracu PDO Threads?
Miracu PDO Threads are next-generation FDA-cleared, absorbable surgical sutures that provide more lifting strength & longevity than earlier-generation threads. The Miracu PDO thread lift is a treatment involving the use of polydioxanone (PDO) surgical sutures that are inserted under the skin providing a smoothing and lifting effect in the face, neck, forehead, and a number of other areas in the body that fillers alone cannot accomplish.
How Do MIRACU PDO Threads Work?
Miracu PDO Threads are inserted into the desired area providing the patient with an immediate skin lift. As the threads do not need to be removed as they dissolve naturally over several months, helping to produce new collagen and elastin in and around the treated area. This process maintains the lifted area and utilizes “controlled healing” as a way to increase overall benefits by activating the body’s selective inflammatory response. Controlled healing is a technique utilized by other procedures as well, such as fractional lasers, chemical peels, and microneedling. The idea is that during this healing process, new collagen and elastin are created as the body responds to replenish and renew the area.
The Miracu, PDO Threads slowly break down over about 240 days. Thereafter, they are converted into water and carbon dioxide and are fully absorbed without any residue, through a process known as hydrolysis.

What are NovaThreads?
While we use NovaThreads to a much lesser degree than Miracu, depending on the patient’s specific needs, NovaThreads can sometimes be a fantastic solution. Like most threads, NovaThreads uses Polydioxanone. There are two types called Nu-Mesh and Nu-Lift.
Nu-Mesh: This procedure uses smooth threads that are layered to resemble a net. Two will be placed horizontally and three vertically to ensure a strong collagen structure.
Nu-Lift: This technique creates more dramatic results using barbed sutures to grip the skin. Threads are inserted in a mesh pattern but can be pulled in two different directions to give an instant lift. During a Nu-Lift, natural collagen will then secure the tightened skin.
