The Halo is a revolutionary “hybrid” laser which can be used for multiple purposes. It is called hybrid because it combines an ablative Erbium (2940nm) laser with nonablative 1470nm laser. Using this combination, the Halo is able to maximize the results while minimizing the downtime and wound care.

The Halo is able to treat the following conditions:

  • Pigmentation
  • Precancerous lesions (Actinic Keratosis)
  • Mild to moderate wrinkles
  • Mild to moderate scarring
  • Sun damage
  • Enlarged pores
  • Dull skin appearance

FROM OUR CLIENTS

The procedure on the face takes about 30 minutes and the neck and chest take about 15 minutes each. There will be a burning/hot sensation for up to a couple hours. For the first 24 hours, it is best to stay at home and apply the skincare recommended by our office. After that, it should be appropriate to venture out of the house and resume near normal activities. The skin will begin to peel at day 3 and will fully peel by day 5. Areas other than the face will take longer to peel, with the extremities taking the longest at about 10 days.

The laser is designed to treat the superficial skin (epidermis) as well as the deeper skin (dermis). Collagen will be created from the Halo and should be fully recognized at 12-16 weeks. A second or third procedure might be needed to achieve the desired results. As with any laser procedure, more aggressive settings will achieve better results but have more downtime as well. Darker skin types can be treated but only with lower settings.

Potential rare side effects are:

  • Prolonged healing
  • Infection
  • Scarring
  • Post inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH)
  • Worsening of melasma
  • Results not up to expectations
